The Inclusion Chart (IC4) is an instrument of social diagnostics to assess life situations across the three axes of inclusion, life security level, and functionality. The fourth amendment of the chart was published in 2017, and first experiences have already been made. The fourth edition of "Soziale Diagnostik" (social diagnostics) was published in 2019 and presented at symposia in Germany. A first evaluation is soon to be conducted and an empirically based work on a draft 4.2 or 5 is in the making. 

Together with organizations using the IC4 in practice, and possibly master’s students, this bachelor project investigates whether the expectations of practitioners and the team of authors were met and examines and discusses controversial questions (e.g., details of visualization, depiction of functionality). 

First, an analysis of the instrument is made. Second, a research question is defined based on controllable practice. Then, the project goes on to explore how practitioners interpret the instrument in an attempt to show the extent to which the instrument’s elements were understood and implemented. Lastly, the project suggests which adaptations could be made to enhance accuracy.

The project’s outcomes serve to further develop the inclusion chart.
