Primary Health and Social Care

Primary Health and Social Care. Secondary Health and Social Care – Social Work in a Hospital Setting

The changed demographic and social framework conditions, the increase of complex psychosocial problems, and organisational changes in existing care structures (e.g., reform of district administration) make it necessary from a bio-psycho-social perspective to pay renewed attention to Social Work in hospital settings and at the intersection of intra- and extramural care. For this reason, this project wants to explore what services Social Work can provide in the hospital, or which areas it covers so far – based on examples selected by students. Suggestions for improvement can be derived from this comparison of what is and what should be. One important aspect of this research is to define and underline the boundary between Social Work and the other hospital professions and to sound out possibilities for cooperation with extramural social services.
