Often people are excluded from areas of society due to psychosocial and health problems. This research project investigated the demand for inclusion counseling in the city of St. Pölten and developed possible service formats in relation to Social Work education. In cooperation with professional networks in St. Pölten, students conducted interviews with both service providers and users of psychosocial counseling services to assess needs. Through interviews with lecturers, the project also examined the relation of higher education didactics with study programs of Social Work. The participants initiated working groups on the implementation of collaborative services, and documented and analyzed their results. The project focused on methodological developments within the bachelor degree program in Social Work and its cooperation with psychosocial and social pedagogy organizations and institutions in the health and social care sector in the St. Pölten region.

Based on the documentation and analysis in working groups, students formulated recommendations for establishing an inclusion counseling office and proposed curricular and structural ideas for anchoring inclusion counseling in teaching.
