Student Peer Counseling at the St. Pölten UAS

Studentische Peer-Beratung an der FH St. Pölten

Crises are part of our lives and are therefore “normal”. In student life, whether for bachelor’s or master’s students, they may take many different forms depending on their causes and implications. In response to the students’ needs, a model for student peer counseling is currently being developed at the St. Pölten UAS. A first concept of the project, which spans across study programs, is expected to be launched in the winter semester of 2018/19.

This project proposal constitutes accompanying research on this peer project. The methods used are action research and evaluation. The project provides scientific guidance throughout the entire implementation process, from the training and the first implementation phase to the recruitment of new peer consultants at the St. Pölten UAS.

The focus is on the possibilities, experiences, and framework conditions at the UAS. In addition, an international perspective will be included to offer a comparative aspect.
